Monitoring site performance with Performancing Metrics

I'm happy to see that Performancing Metrics is up and running again. I now use this to monitor the statistics performance of my website. I had a pause when it shut down its previous version of the service.

Having a metrics service in installed in your site will surely help in boosting your website performance. I also admit that it would not have been possible for me to escalate the growth of my site and win the Yahoo category of the Ituloy AngSulong competition if not for the use of Performancing Metrics.

Features I found to be most interesting so far are:

• See number and actual actions taken by each visitor to your blog/website.
• Shows location of your last 50 visitors in a global map.
• Top entrance and exit pages.
• Spy feature that shows activity of live visitors in your site/blog.
• Integrates with FeedBurner.

With all these great features, all I can say is welcome back Performancing Metrics!

The end for Performancing Metrics

After reading this news about Performancing Metrics, I'm not sure how easy things will be. I've been using Performancing Metrics for quite sometime now to track my blog/website traffic and Google AdSense clicks. In fact, through it, I was able to trace an attempted click fraud in my site and alerted Google.

Performancing now recommends current users to consider Feedburner as an alternative.

Thanks Performancing for the great service and may all future plans go well! I still hope you'll have more payment alternatives in your Partners program soon.

Performancing needs finetuning for Blogger Beta

I started experimenting with the new Blogger (Beta) through a new blog site that I created, the DigitalFilipino.com Web Awards. I am now in the process of finetuning the labels and have included the Performancing Metrics code earlier.

However, as I started reviewing the reports, I realized that Performancing Metrics is not yet configured to accommodate the new Blogger as blog posts titles are not yet appearing as is and post views can't detail the pages viewed yet.

I also hope that Blogger will include metrics tracking as part of its service in the future and take advantage of Google tools like Analytics and Sitemap.

Click sabotage

I have Performancing metrics script installed in my website for quite sometime now that allows me to track Google AdSense clicks and from which articles they came from.

Today, I saw in my Performancing report that I had 30 clicks that came from this particular article in one day. Note that it is an old article.

I'm worried as such is very unusual and even thought that someone may be trying to commit click abuse on my site, for one reason or another, that may have an affect to my Google AdSense account.

Got to roll-up sleeves and do some log investigation. I'm paranoid.......
